Sugarbrook Neighborhood Water Supply Improvements (Design Phase)

Water supply system improvements are being designed for the Sugarbrook Neighborhood in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti.  The project will replace existing old and mostly undersized water mains.  The water supply system improvements will be constructed in advance of planned road and drainage improvements being implemented by the Washtenaw County Road Commission on behalf of the Township.

M-17 & US-12 Water Main Improvements (2022-2023)

US12YCUA’s improvements to both existing water and wastewater utilities within the M-17 and US-12 corridors in the City of Ypsilanti are now substantially complete. With the underground construction essentially done, the replacement of the curbs and pavement surfaces disturbed during the pipe work is underway. Michigan Avenue and those portions of the connecting side streets will be restored first and, weather permitting, should be completed within the next several weeks.  Areas disturbed by the pipe work in the alleyways and parking lots north and south of Michigan Avenue will then be restored with that work anticipated to be complete by Labor Day.

State Street Pump Station and Force Main Improvements (2022-2023)

St StreetThe pump station is located on the north side of State Street between Glengrove Avenue and Nash Avenue.  The project included work at the pump station site and the installation of approximately 3,600 lineal feet of new force main.  The first phase of the work involved the installation of the new 12" discharge force main which was completed during the summer of 2022.  The second phase of the project included improvements to the pumps and related equipment at the station itself which was completed in the late winter of 2023. The design flow of the pump station has been tripled from 700 gpm to 2100 gpm.


West Cross Street Reconstruction Project (2020)

Infrastructure improvements were completed within the City of Ypsilanti starting with Cross Street from Summit Street to North Huron Street.  Water infrastructure improvements included hydrant replacements, water service replacements, and water main replacement.  Improvements also included various sanitary lateral replacements.
