Technical Rescue Training at YCUA

Last week YCUA's Confined Space Rescue Team hosted the Washtenaw County Tactical Rescue Team for a multi-day training exercise at YCUA's Wastewater Treatment Facility!

The Washtenaw County Technical Rescue Team is a skilled technician-level response team for Structural Collapse, Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and Rope Rescue in the state of Michigan. They are the first team in Michigan to be validated as a technician-level technical rescue response team. The Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority has hosted this team at various sites of ours for scenario training over the past two years. A collaborative effort to incorporate YCUA’s own Confined Space Rescue Team to train alongside of these professionals is not only educational, but exciting as well.

Thank you to all of you who voluntarily put your own health and safety on the line to ensure that the rest of us have a chance to make it home safely.
