YCUA BILLING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Why is my bill so high?

A. You may want to check the flapper valve in your toilet or where the float ball is set. These may be causing a leak. Do you sometimes have to jiggle the handle to make the toilet to stop running? Have you been watering your lawn or are you trying to keep it green during a hot spell? Do you have a pool? Do children often play in the hose/sprinkler? These are all causes of heavy use which is reflected in high bills.

Q. Why are you charging me a late fee?

A. This new billing structure began in June 2003 for Township customers and in July 2003 for City customers. The due date for all bills is now 20 days from the date of mailing, rather than the 10th.

Q. Does YCUA have electronic funds transfer capability for bill payment?

A. Yes. YCUA is pleased to announce that it is now able to offer the option of free electronic bill payment to its customers. Please click here to obtain more information and to download an enrollment form.

Q. What are my options for bill payment?

A. Water bills can be paid by cash, check, money order or automatic electronic funds transfer. You may also pay online using an electronic check or credit card by clicking here. (Please note that there is a fee associated with this form of payment.) Bills that are not past due can be paid at Ypsilanti City Hall and the Ypsilanti Township Civic Center. Please allow 10 business days for your payment to reach YCUA when paying at these locations. We also offer a payment dropbox at our facility at 2777 State Road, Ypsilanti, MI 48198. Access to the dropbox is 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
